written court order...


My heart is beating like a jungle drum... today I received the written court order! Only two weeks after the judgement, believe me this is fast, some families wait a lot longer. That means.... that yes we are flying to India on the 16th of February. We already booked our flights last week when they told us the judge passed the order. It was a gamble as we didn’t know when the written order would come through but it seems like it was a good one. The orphanage can now apply for his passport and hopefully this will arrive by the 16th or shortly after. It doesn’t matter we are travelling regardless. We have booked for 5 weeks but it is possible we will stay longer, depending on how long it takes us to organise visa’s etc...
I have reread the written order so many times already but this is my favourite part:

First and second petitioners (that would be us J) are permitted to take the minor child outside this jurisdiction for minor’s upbringing, education and establishment in life as the natural child of the first and second petitioners.
Such sweet words ....

I will be regularly posting on the blog in preparation of the trip and during the trip so stay tuned J

    Oh my goodness this is exciting!!! And you are right, 2 weeks is quick!! It's been 5 weeks since I appeared before the judge for the verbal order and still no written order :(. I've heard that passports come quickly so I will be praying that yours comes quickly! CONGRATS!!!!

We got up early this morning 7:30 and woke up J. As usually he comes for a cuddle in our bed, he loves it, he loves playing hide and seek with mommy under the duvet. We got dressed for breakfast and he was veering towards a mood but daddy managed to diffuse it by involving him in counting and preparing daddy’s supplements. Mission accomplished! We spoke to him that he needs to sit at the table during breakfast and not run to the swimming pool and he promised he would and he kept his promise. We arranged to go to the zoo today with our friends and whilst waiting for the taxi I showed him the videos I made at home from our dog and cat. frustration...

We had some bad news yesterday, where I thought our file had already long been filed in the court it appears now this is not the case. There seem to be more documents missing, I was so disappointed that another month has passed without anything happening and as per usual some of the documents are already in our file. I am waiting for clarification on what exactly is needed. At the same time the warden of the orphanage has passed away. We did not get a chance to meet this woman but judging from the reactions on facebook etc.. this was a wonderful person and I am sure the children and staff are going through a difficult time. I can't help but wonder what effect this lady had on Raju's life and if he is in any way going through a hard time. I feel so helpless not to be able to do anything. I hope we can clarify the missing documents before our trip to the US, I hate to think we would loose another month on administrative nonsense. I know it is not nonsense and it is important but ...

the end of our Kerala trip

The end of our Kerala trip is near... I can’t believe we’ve been here for seven days! Time seems to enter a whole new dimension when you become a parent; a day feels like five minutes. Kerala is beautiful and I wish we could stay here longer; we will definitely come back in the future. It is so peaceful and breathtaking. The food is delicious, the people are friendly, and although the air is more humid there is less pollution than in Bangalore. We had a fun week of swimming, walking, eating, sleeping and bonding. We made huge progress in the swimming, he has completely lost his fear of water and now loves jumping into the pool or going to sleep under the water with daddy. Every day things go better, we still have our moments though but they seem less frequent and they seem to pass quicker as well.
